Printed electronics is a term that covers printed and potentially printed thin film electronics and electrics. Printed electronics is the next wave of electronics and its impact will be even greater than that of the silicon chip forty years ago. For example, lighting, batteries, sensors and electronic circuits will be deposited on top of each other to create a flexible film that will remove weight and cost and gain space in the new electric vehicles in 2011. It is transforming medicine with disposable smart skin patches and testers: it will transform consumer goods by making products and displays appeal to many human senses. Here we have stretchable, tightly rollable, transparent and even edible electronics.
Readers of Future Intelligence will qualify for a 30% discount for the exhibition. Those wanting to take advantage of this should register on the FI site to recieve the promotional code.
